Questions about DeepKYC

What is DeepKYC?

DeepKYC is an application in development for digital client verification, risk assessment and documentation.

What does KYC mean?

Know Your Customer describes processes used to identify clients and, where relevant, beneficial owners and assess related risks.

What changes on 1 October 2026?

Strengthened Swiss anti-money laundering requirements come into force. The obligations depend on the activity and situation; this website does not provide legal advice.

How does DeepKYC integrate with Abacus?

A process can start in Abacus, move to DeepKYC when further verification is needed and return the relevant results and documentation to Abacus.

When will DeepKYC be available?

DeepKYC is currently in closed beta. Would you like to try the application before its official launch? Request beta access through our website or contact us at sales@deepcloud.swiss.

Do signatories need a DeepSign account, and how is their identity verified?

Signatories do not need an existing DeepSign account. For qualified electronic signatures (QES), identity verification is carried out using the free DeepID app and a supported identity document. DeepID is integrated directly into DeepSign, enabling a straightforward digital identity verification process.

Does DeepID support identity verification for people of all nationalities?

DeepID generally supports passports from around the world, as well as national identity cards issued by EU and European Economic Area (EEA) countries. This enables digital identity verification for people of different nationalities, provided they have a supported identity document.

What sources are used for screening data?

The screening process checks individuals against existing sanctions lists, politically exposed persons (PEP) lists and other watchlists. Sanctions screening draws on official lists maintained by organisations and authorities including SECO, the EU, the UN, OFAC and the UK's HM Treasury.

Does screening cover global PEP, sanctions and watchlists, and account for different name spellings?

DeepKYC enables screening against global PEP, sanctions and watchlists. It also takes different spellings of names into account, including variations resulting from the transliteration of names from other writing systems.

Can the AMLA checklists be customised?

Yes, the checklists in DeepKYC can be customised to reflect company-specific requirements.

How can external SRO auditors access documents stored in DeepKYC?

Documents collected in DeepKYC can be stored in DeepBox, DeepCloud's secure document storage solution, and made directly available to external auditors from self-regulatory organisations (SROs). This gives auditors access to the documents they need to carry out their audits.

Which languages is DeepKYC available in?

Like all DeepCloud services, DeepKYC is available in four languages: German, French, Italian and English.
